Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said that he had a conversation with Dean Blandino, the NFLâs vice president of officiating regarding a number of matters, including Trent Williamsâs incident involving official Roy Ellison.
Williams said that the official cursed him out during the first half of Sundayâs loss at Philadelphia, and Ellison reportedly has a history of such incidents.
It remains unclear if he will receive any punishment for his behavior.
The league has said that the investigation continues.
Shanahan said he couldnât go into detail on his discussion with Blandino.
Williams, meanwhile, said that he hasnât yet heard from any league representatives inquiring about the incident. Teammates Niles Paul and Kory Lichtensteiger, who flanked Williams at the time Ellison allegedly cursed at him, both said they hadnât heard from the league either.
âI donât expect to hear from them,â Williams said after practice. âTheyâre going to probably sweep it under the rug. Thatâs my opinion. But Iâm over it. Iâm focused on the 49ers right now, so thatâs the end of it.â
