Rookie tight end Jordan Reed missed a third straight day of practice because of a concussion that he suffered in last Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reed has yet to pass a neurological test and thus cannot take part in any football activities. The Redskins have yet to rule Reed out for Monday’s game at San Francisco, but Coach Mike Shanahan said the team’s medical staff will continue to monitor him over the weekend.

“He’ll go through the protocol again tomorrow and we’ll see how he does,” Shanahan said.

Defensive end Stephen Bowen and fullback Darrel Young also missed practice on Friday. Bowen is nursing an injured right knee, and Young suffered a hamstring injury. Young said Friday afternoon that he anticipates playing on Monday, however.

Cornerback Josh Wilson (toe) returned to practice after being plagued by a toe injury earlier this week. Fellow defensive back E.J. Biggers (knee) also practiced fully.
