Redskins outside linebacker Brian Orakpo missed Thursday’s practice with the groin injury that he suffered in last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, and his status for this weekend’s season finale remains in doubt.

Orakpo practiced in a limited capacity in Tuesday’s practice, but wasn’t able to do anything two days later.

Orakpo yet hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

“If we feel he can’t go, then he won’t go,” Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said. “But ‘Rak  like the rest of our players  if he can play, he wants to play. But we’re not going to jeopardize his leg to play, for obvious reasons. It’s a little sore right now, but there’s still a chance.”

If Orakpo can’t play, Rob Jackson likely would start at right outside linebacker. Darryl Tapp and rookie Brandon Jenkins, who has dressed for only four games, possibly could rotate in and out at that spot as well.

What’s ahead:

●  The Redskins practiced Thursday at 11:50 a.m.; Mike Shanahan, Jim Haslett and Kyle Shanahan are expected to speak with reporters afterward.
