Former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was brought back by the Baltimore Ravens for a second interview for their vacant offensive coordinator job, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Shanahan’s second interview with the Ravens was scheduled for Thursday, the person said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the interview.

The Ravens are seeking a replacement for Jim Caldwell, who was hired as the head coach of the Detroit Lions.

Shanahan was fired by the Redskins along with his father Mike, the team’s head coach, after a 3-13 season. He also interviewed for the Miami Dolphins’ offensive coordinator job, but the Dolphins hired Bill Lazor.

The Baltimore Sun, which first reported Shanahan’s second interview, reported that Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson is to have a second interview Friday with the Ravens. The Sun reported that Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler remains under consideration for a promotion to offensive coordinator but another candidate, Scott Linehan, was not scheduled to interview a second time.
