The team has hired assistant special teams coach Bradford Banta, assistant offensive line/offensive quality control coach Shane Day, and offensive quality control assistant Jake Peetz. The team also announced that Aubrey Pleasant, who served as an offensive assistant last year, will now switch to the defensive side of the ball as a quality control assistant to defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.
Banta had served most recently as Detroit’s assistant linebackers coach the last two seasons. Prior to that, he served as the Lions’ assistant special teams coach from 2008-11.
Day, who accepted the job with the Redskins two weeks ago, had served as U-Conn.’s quarterbacks coach. Peetz served as an analyst for Alabama’s football program last season, and prior to that worked as a scout for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
