The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder, a 2010 third-round pick out of Arizona State, Lauvao started 11 games at right guard for the Cleveland Browns after missing the first four with a knee injury. He missed the final game of the season as well.
Lauvao started all 16 games both in 2011 and 2012 and appeared in 10 in 2010.
Lauvao signed a four-year contract. ESPN reported its worth at $17 million.
Washington aimed to upgrade the interior of its offensive line this offseason after struggling to protect Robert Griffin III in drop-back passing situations last season.
