The Redskins hosted free agent center Brian De La Puente today, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
The 6-foot-3, 306-pound De La Puente, 28, started the past three seasons at center for the New Orleans Saints.
It wasn’t immediately clear where negotiations between the two sides stood.
Washington last week released center Will Montgomery. The team plans to move left guard Kory Lichtensteiger to center. But things remain fluid at that position.
NBC’s ProFootballTalk reported that the Redskins also hosted former Colts guard/center Mike McGlynn. The 29-year-old McGlynn (6-4, 325) started 30 games over the last two seasons for the Colts.
