Redskins claim DE Brandon Moore off waivers

The Redskins claimed defensive end Brandon Moore, who most recently spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to the NFL’s daily transaction report on Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 317-pound Moore originally signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted rookie free agent in April 2013. He spent the bulk of the season on the Chargers’ practice squad before he was released. He then signed with Denver’s practice squad on Nov. 28.

The Broncos released Moore on Dec. 31, and the Chiefs signed him to a futures contract over the offseason. But Kansas City waived Moore last Thursday.

Moore played one season at the University of Texas after transferring from East Mississippi Community College. He played for Alabama for two seasons prior to that.
