Alexander and Golston hosting annual Ride to Provide

Lorenzo Alexander, right, shaking hands with a fan after a 2011 preseason game, is a member of the Arizona Cardinals now, but he still hosts a yearly charity ride in Northern Virginia.

Former Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and Washington defensive end Kedric Golston on Saturday will team up again for their fourth annual Ride to Provide charity bike event on the W&OD Railroad Regional Park Trail.

The football players’ event begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and will raise money for Alexander’s ACES Foundation, and two organizations that benefit wounded military members – Ride 2 Recovery and Dare2Tri Para-triathlon Club.

Redskins players, including Ryan Kerrigan, Logan Paulsen, Nick Sundberg and Kai Forbath, as well as former Redskins Antwaan Randle El and Chris Wilson, also will take part in the event.

The ride, which is open to the entire family, features four different distances: 10 miles, 20, 35 and 53 miles. Registration costs $50 for bikers 18 and over, and children 17 and under cost $25 each. Registration for a family of four is $100, with each additional family member costing $20.
