Who is the best player on the Redskins?

Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris

Are either of these players the Redskins’ best? (Ricky Carioti/The Washington Post)

So the D.C. Sports Bog pointed out how Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III won’t be on the NFL Network’s list of the top 100 players in the league last season. And while it’s universally acknowledged that Griffin wasn’t as good last season as he was in 2012, he’s still clearly the biggest star on the team, and probably the person whose fortunes most directly affect the team’s record.

But is he Washington’s best player? On some teams, like New England, New Orleans or Denver, the quarterback is the best player by any definition. But here, one could argue that others have excelled more at what they specialize in, or at least have been more consistent year to year. Washington has a bunch of pretty good players, and others with the potential to be great, but right now, which one would you call the team’s best?
