RICHMOND – Cornerback DeAngelo Hall suffered a back injury during Sunday morning’s practice and had to be carted off the sideline and to the locker room.

Hall took a hard fall, and while on the sideline, his back locked up on him, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. After being helped onto the trainers’ cart, Hall was driven to the locker room, where he received treatment for what is believed to be a bruised back, a team spokesman said.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden is expected to provide a more substantial update later this afternoon.

Hall,  30, is Washington’s starting left cornerback. Tracy Porter took the bulk of the first-team snaps in place of Hall.
