After the ‘Watch the Throne’ show, it’s the after-parties

Tonight, Kanye and Jay-Z take over D.C.

David has already told you how to make the most of the concert at the Verizon Center. But as Jay himself once said, “After the show, it’s the after-party.” If you want to keep the good vibes going, check out one of these post-concert events. You never know who might show up.

•WBC Welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the host of the party at the Park at 14th, along with WPGC’s Big Tigger. It’s DJ Quicksilva’s birthday, so expect a special birthday set. RSVP to TheParkThursday@usualsuspectz.com for free admission before 11 p.m., or print out a guest pass from the Park’s Web site and bring it along.

•Before he was Jay-Z’s preferred recording engineer, Young Guru was a Howard University student who got his start DJing parties at D.C. nightclubs. Now he’s back in town as part of the Watch the Throne tour, but he’s not spinning at some late-night joint on U Street: If you want to catch Young Guru at Dirty Martini for “The Official Watch the Throne After Party,” the club says the only way to guarantee admission is to get a table for bottle service, where the minimum starts at $500 per group. Doors open at 9 p.m. Call 202-355-5203 for reservations.

•Don’t want to drop any cash? Walk up Seventh Street to Bar 7 after the concert, where the Black Alley Band is performing at an after-party. Admission is free with a Watch the Throne ticket stub.

•Over at Shadow Room, the weekly Thursday party is also offering free admission to concertgoers with ticket stubs, plus an hour of open-bar from 10 to 11 for early arrivals. (Don’t plan on doing that if you’re going to the concert, however.) Get on the guest list at www.dtnation.com. The club says former Washington Wizard Antawn Jameson is going to serve as the night’s host.
