“Argo,” Ben Affleck’s film about a rescue during the Iranian hostage crisis, topped he box office after its third week in theaters. $12.4 million was enough to put the film, which has earned some Oscar buzz in recent weeks, at No. 1.
“Cloud Atlas,” the new release starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, came in second this week, with $9.6 million. “Hotel Transylvania” ended up at No. 3, with $9.4 million.
