Bastille Day parties, from French maids to jazz

There are myriad ways to celebrate Bastille Day in Washington. You can sip champagne — the real stuff — at the French Embassy while listening to live jazz. You can dance on the bar of Bistrot du Coin until the wee hours while a DJ spins. Or you can put on a French maid uniform and participate in a relay race during a block party outside L’Enfant Cafe in Adams Morgan. The race involves filling a champagne glass with spoonfuls of champagne — you have to see it to believe it.

To help you choose where you want to celebrate, I’ve compiled this list of Bastille Day parties taking place around town. There will be info on more parties later in the week, so check back, mes amies.
