The movie loosely based on Hasbro’s board game “Battleship” couldn’t muster enough momentum to launch itself to the top of the weekend box office in its first week out in theaters. Instead, “Marvel’s The Avengers” — which opened on May 4 — prevailed, spending yet another week at the top of the list. (Check out Celebritology for a more detailed breakdown.)
