Beat cabin fever with Fall Fringe, a cask ale festival and early (kiddie) polling

There’s nothing like a brisk morning jaunt around the city to shake a case of cabin fever. The Tweed Ride is back for its fourth year on Sunday. (Evy Mages For The Washington Post)
After several nail-biting days, more than a few Washingtonians are beginning to feel the effect of too many days spent indoors hoarding water, watching Netflix and knitting. It’s time to get out of the house, and this weekend provides many places to go.

Fall Fringe, the mini-fest that plucks a few favorites from the summertime theatrical bonanza, kicks off Thursday. Mad Fox Brewing in Falls Church celebrates a curiously flat libation at its Cask Ale Festival. Tweed riders roll through the streets. And in perhaps the biggest display of cute all weekend, children can experience the electoral process at Madame Tussauds by registering to vote and casting their ballots for Mitt Romney or President Obama.

Check out these events and more in our list of the best events this weekend.

And finally, for those hitting the bars later Saturday night, don’t forget that Sunday brings the end of daylight savings. At 2 a.m. the clock magically reverses to 1 a.m. again, leaving you an additional two hours to eat Jumbo Slice.
