Every Tuesday, we send out our weekly With the Kids newsletter, packed with ideas from the Going Out Gurus and great reads for parents from the rest of The Post. For a glimpse of what’s inside the newsletter, here are three of our top event picks for the days ahead:

• “Carnival of the Animals” (Sunday): Music by the National Symphony Orchestra, narration by children’s poet laureate Jack Prelutsky and illustrations by Mary GrandPre bring the Camille Saint-Saens classic to life at the Kennedy Center.

The Dirty Sock Funtime Band (Saturday) The New York-based tot rockers, made famous by Nick Jr.’s “Jack’s Big Music Show,” take the stage at Jammin’ Java.

Family Day at Fairgrounds (Sunday): While the Nats are away, the kids get to play — at the new Half Street Fairgrounds Sunday carnivals, that is.
