As part of their Bootleg Shakespeare series, the actors at Taffety Punk go through just one day of rehearsal before staging their adaptation of the first draft of “Hamlet,” a version they have dubbed “Hamlet: The Bad-ass Quarto.”

The Chicago ensemble plays drums, marimbas, vibraphones and everyday objects in a performance of works composed by avant-garde musician John Cage.
WEDNESDAY
Head to NoMa for a screening of “Deep Impact,” the disaster film with an all-star cast — Morgan Freeman as the president! — about a comet on a collision course with Earth.
THURSDAY
A youthful take on the classics
The National Youth Orchestra of Canada performs a program of Dvorak and Shostakovich and a new work by Canadian composer Adam Sherkin, “Terra Incognita,” at the Music Center at Strathmore.
FRIDAY
The new exhibit “The Two Planets — Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook” at Baltimore’s Walters Art Museum features short film vignettes of Thai farmers discussing modern European paintings.
SATURDAY
Head to the historic grounds of the Congressional Cemetery to buy books, meet local authors (and their dogs) and participate in a used-book exchange. Authors Meredith Henne Baker, Anthony Pitch and The Post’s Gene Weingarten are scheduled to appear.
SUNDAY
Enjoy a celebration of African culture, including more than 50 musical performances, fashion shows, dance performances, food and craft vendors and more at Silver Spring’s Veterans Plaza Civic Center.
BONUS: It is the last week to see “Joan Miro: The Ladder of Escape” at the National Gallery of Art.
