Dancing on your own? Not at the Green Lantern.

Swedish pop songstress Robyn — shown at a 2010 show at the 9:30 Club — will be in Washington in July. Start celebrating early with a tribute night at the Green Lantern. (Photo by Kyle Gustafson/For The Washington Post)
We’re all crazy for Robyn right now. The Swedish electropop star, known for “Call Your Girlfriend,” “Dancing on My Own” and “Show Me Love,” among other hits, will be in town for three nights in July, including two concerts opening for Coldplay at the Verizon Center and two intimate DJ gigs at U Street Music Hall. (The Sunday night show is sold out; 300-plus tickets for Saturday night will be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis, which should make U Street resemble a Wal-Mart on Black Friday.)

If you can’t wait a whole month to get your fix of the Swedish sensation’s glossy dance floor fillers, head to the Green Lantern on Friday night for the second annual Shift party. DJs MAJR, the Pocketgays and Charlie Kordes will have a two-level party going: One floor will be nothing but Robyn, while the upper level will mix songs by Robyn and a variety of other “Sirens,” including Kylie Minogue, Little Boots, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj. You’ll want to get there early — it’s going to be packed — but to encourage early arrival, the Logan Circle gay bar is offering free vodka drinks from 10 to 11.
