Dorothy’s ruby slippers are off to London, but there’s no place like home at the American History Museum

(ED ZURGA/AP)

“Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in D.C. anymore.” — The Ruby Slippers on their first international journey.

The beloved ruby slippers Judy Garland wore in “The Wizard of Oz” won’t be in our back yard for a bit; they’re off to London’s Victoria and Albert Museum until Nov. 21.

But don’t forget the other treasures at the National Museum of American History: There’s the original Star Spangled Banner; the First Ladies’ gowns; and Julia Child’s recently reopened kitchen.

As for the slippers? Don’t worry. They know there’s (wait for it) no place like home.
