When we went to check it out, the closest 7-Eleven to the Post at 14th Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW had no signs about Free Slurpee Day — just a forlorn stack of mini cups next to the Slurpee machine.
Speaking of icy cold refreshment, adult versions of frozen treats are all the rage this year. Jack Rose, Marvin, PS 7’s and Bayou Bakery are among the restaurants and bars serving snow cones and sno balls spiked with booze.
