This evening, Dupont Circle favorite Hank’s Oyster Bar is unveiling its new expansion. After nine months of construction, the 6-year-old restaurant is adding new bar and lounge spaces as well as a private dining room and much expanded patio. In addition to more space, Hank’s is also expanding its hours, serving food at the bar until 1 a.m. on weeknights and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Tonight, staring at 5 p.m., the restaurant is rewarding its guests with the first chance to tatse the new Hayden's Reef Oyster. The oysters, which were developed in collaboration with oyster farmer Bruce Wood in Montross, Va., were pulled from the water yesterday afternoon, and are ready for their first moment in the spotlight along with the rest of the new additions at Hank’s.
