Get inspired by ‘Hunger Games’

Get in touch with your inner Katniss and try your hand at archery. (Murray Close)
Everyone’s buzzing about the film adaptation of “The Hunger Games,” the first book in Suzanne Collins’s dystopian trilogy, which could be one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. (Read Washington Post critic Ann Hornaday’s review, and get the lowdown on those early morning showtimes.) If you’re a fan, you may find that even when you’ve finished reading the books or watching the film, a persistent yearning for all things “Hunger Games” remains.

The official movie merchandising includes a nail polish collection, so you could give yourself a manicure with those, but why not do something to really get into the spirit of the characters? Grab a bow and arrow and become as skilled as Katniss Everdeen at hitting a target. Escape the brutality of Panem and head to the woods, as Gale Hawthorne would do. There’s more fun to be had after the credits roll -- here’s where to find it.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
