Get your kicks before the storm: Halloween and more best events of the weekend

Ready for Halloween, or reacting to the news of a Frankenstorm? You decide.

So it’s perfect, then, that most Halloween events are slated for Friday or Saturday, when the Halloween Zombie Fest, the Monster Bash, Zombie Night and Brightest Young Things and the Temple of Doom will all go down.

If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the Marine Corps Marathon runners, listen to singer Bette LaVette belt out a few blue notes at the Howard, or jet off to Annapolis for a day of craft beer tastings you can find those events and more non-Halloween events on our list of the weekend’s best events.

And now for the disclaimer: With Sandy currently stumping even brilliant weather folk — the name “Frankenstorm” was coined by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and is currently killing it in a Capital Weather gang poll — be sure to call ahead or check Web sites and Twitter no matter where you’re headed this weekend.
