The Kennedy Center released details today on how to get those coveted free tickets to its annual Millennium Stage anniversary blowout with OK Go on June 23.
This year, thanks to the wonders of technology and the foresight of the KenCen folks, no one will have to wait in line in the freezing cold or sleep at the center (like a few people did for tickets to see Sufjan Stevens a few years back).
Here’s the deal: Beginning June 1 at noon and through June 15 at midnight, you can visit www.kennedy-center.org/okgo and fill out an entry form for up to two tickets to the show. (It’s not first come, first served, so enter anytime.) You’ll need a Kennedy Center account to log in and submit the form, so you might want to sign up for that soon.
The winners will be selected at random and informed by e-mail June 16. Should your e-mail get lost in, well, the mail, you can always try to wait it out at the door and see if you can snag seats from no-shows; there will be a stand-by line. (If you’re wondering, the Concert Hall, where the show will take place, has room for 2,442.)
