Getting Up Guide: Tuesday, May 10

Tuesday is upon us. Let’s have a look at what’s happening in and around D.C. tonight:

•The Washington Ballet’s ever-popular Beer and Ballet happy hour gives you an inside look at the company’s upcoming “Carmen.”

•Rustico, the paterfamilias of the area’s craft beer bar scene, celebrates five years in Alexandria with $5 drafts of everything on tap from 5 p.m. until close.

Colombian cuisine is on the menu all week at Cafe Atlantico.

•In the clubs tonight: David Vandervelde is at Iota; My Chemical Romance is at 9:30 Club (sold out); ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead at the Rock and Roll Hotel (sold out); Diego Garcia and Dan Scheuerman at DC9; and Rich Medina at U Street Music Hall.

•Food trucks for lunch today: Go find ‘em.

Alex Baldinger is editor of the Going Out Guide blog, which covers food, drink, arts, music, events and other curiosities in the D.C. area. He is forever in search of a great sandwich.
