“The Muppets” hits the theaters Nov. 23. It’s just one of dozens of films coming up this holiday season.

’Tis the movie season. Those folks who bring us the big-screen entertainment really pack it in between now and the new year.
This year, Post critic Ann Hornaday compiled her take on what’s to come in the Holiday Movie Guide. What should we expect? “The Darkest Hour. ” “Shame.” “Outrage.” “Melancholia.”
Yes, those are movie titles.
But to counterbalance that heaviness, we also can hit the cineplex to see the lighthearted “Happy Feet Two,” a documentary about the Elmo creator and “The Adventures of Tintin.”
So make sure to carve out some time away from the turkey and tinsel this year and disappear into the comfort of the dark theater. Let Ann Hornaday be your guide.
