Halloween: Carve pumpkins, win prizes

This is the third of a series of Halloween-related blog posts. We’ve previously covered perfest pumpkin patches and local ghost tours.

Handing out sharp objects in a bar might not seem like the best idea in the world, but it’s a ritual around Halloween, when bars and restaurants host pumpkin-carving contests for their patrons. Head out to one of these carving events and try your hand at creating the spookiest Jack O’Lantern, or just have fun celebrating Halloween with a beer or burger in hand. Who knows — you may even win a free night’s stay at the Hotel Helix or a nice large bar tab.
