Hot Tickets: Kenny G, Digitalism

Jazz musician Kenny G performs with Robert Dampier on Sept. 18. (Jim Cooper - AP)
The “cool kids” at Nightlife Agenda are always telling you about the hottest clubs, the coolest DJs. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Along those lines, we could have given you the scoop about Digitalism’s Aug. 19 show at the 9:30 Club (on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly, $30), but instead we give you Kenny G, performing as a duo with Robert Dampier Sept. 18 at the Birchmere. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster.

Okay, okay. We've heard all the dentist’s office jokes before. We’re not even going to lie and say we listen to him and that his music is really misunderstood, because we don’t. (Except those Christmas albums. Get over yourselves, Kenny G haters, you know you listen, too.)

But you know what? Dude has staying power. Dude’s gone platinum — way more than most. There’s something to be said for that.

Tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly for the following shows at the 9:30 Club:
Fight the Lion, Big Paper Airplanes, Nikki Barr Band, Accidents and Madrone July 23 ($15).

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster for Deva Premal and Miten and Manose Oct. 11 at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue ($40).

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon through Ticketmaster for the following shows at the Birchmere:
Hot Rize Oct. 6 ($37.50).
