Join us for jazz on Saturday

Young jazz musicians perform at the Jazz 'n Families Fun Day in 2008. (Ron Green)
As if the free admission and impressive slate of jazz performances aren’t enough of an excuse to head to the Phillips Collection this weekend for Jazz ‘N Families Fun Days, add this reason to your list: We’ll be there, and we want to hang out with you.

On Saturday, David Malitz and Anne Kenderdine will be on hand to introduce acts, including bassist Herman Burney and violinist David Schuman, our own Jess Righthand will perform jazz standards with her band at 2 (I’ve seen the set list — you won’t be disappointed) and I’ll be discussing the intersection of music and visual art right after that.

The music at the Phillips may whet your appetite for more jazz, so be sure to check out more events in the D.C. Jazz Festival and Jazz Loft.
