Leesburg’s Doner Bistro coming to Adams Morgan, and we’re looking forward to it

Doner Bistro’s Mighty Midget Kitchen in Leesburg. (Arianne Aryanpur)
If the general outcry coming from some corners of my social circle reflects the feelings of the general populace, a lot of you are upset about the closing of Shawarma King.

You need not worry: Doner Bistro, the Leesburg staple that will replace it, is an upgrade in almost every way: Get ready for juicy doner in fresh bread pockets, Belgian style hand-cut fries, sauce-slathered currywurst, bratwurst and veal schnitzel.

The admirable selection of German beers from the Leesburg outpost (you might recognize the restaurant’s iconic Mighty Midget Kitchen) will also be a part of the Adams Morgan location at 1654 Columbia Rd. NW. That means you’ll no longer need to endure outlet mall traffic in order to get your doner and Veltins fix.
