Mark your calendars for New Year’s Eve

DJ/Producer Dave Nada returns to Washington on New Year’s Eve with DJs Matt Nordstrom, Sabo and Jen Lasher for a banging night of moombahton dance tunes. (Josh Sisk/For The Washington Post)
What are you doing New Year’s Eve? We know there are two months to go before it’s time to welcome 2012, but bars, clubs and concert halls have begun selling tickets for the biggest night of the year. (You can see our growing calendar here.)

Some of the events have a familiar ring to them: Performances by Peaches O’Dell at the Black Cat, the Seldom Scene at the Birchmere, Deanna Bogart at Rams Head or the Legwarmers at the State Theatre have become an annual tradition at this point.

But there are some new items for your calendars: DJ Dave Nada hosts another of his Moombahton Massive all-nighters at U Street Music Hall, the Fillmore celebrates its first Dec. 31 in Silver Spring with ‘70s favorites Little Feat, and the 9:30 Club hosts Southern rockers the Drive By Truckers for the finale of a three-night stand.

We’ll have to wait until closer to December before info about parties at dive bars and other more low-key clubs, but if you’re wondering where you’ll ring in 2012, this is a good time to start looking.
