The MidCity Business Association holds its Dog Days sidewalk sale and street festival along 14th and U streets, where some of your favorite stores will offer special deals and freebies. Participants this year include Lettie Gooch, Miss Pixie's and Gallery Plan B, among others. Studio Theatre will also hold its popular garage sale.
Signature Theatre hosts a full-on showcase this Saturday, with an open house that includes opera performances, dance workshops, a family cabaret with Disney songs, a look at the upcoming 2012-2013 season and the ever-popular “Signature Idol” talent contest.
Playing off the refrigerator in its name, the Fridge DC kicks off “Fresh Produce,” an aptly named, nearly month-long showcase of emerging artists whose work has not yet been exhibited in a gallery. The roster has expanded to include filmmakers and visual artists in addition to performance artists.
