It was a long holiday weekend, and plenty of people made it out to the movies. Those who did were mostly looking for action and intrigue: Tom Cruise’s “Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol” came out on top of the weekend box office with $38.3 million domestically, and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” trailed in second place with $26.5 million.
