Not to be overshadowed by “Zero Dark Thirty,” but “Amour” also earned a four-star review

Zero Dark Thirty” is getting all the ink (star Jessica Chastain appears on three Washington Post section fronts today, David Malitz points out), but it's not the only four-star film to open this weekend.

“Amour,” filmmaker Michael Haneke’s somber portrait of an elderly French couple nearing the end of their lives together, also earned the highest possible mark from Post film critic Ann Hornaday. So while the weather forecast calls for unseasonably warm weather on Saturday and Sunday, these are two strong arguments for heading to the movies instead.
