Oktoberfest is underway: Here’s where to party

Oktoberfest officially began on Saturday, and steins were hoisted on H Street and at National Harbor as well as in Munich. Over the next few weeks, you’ll be able to listen to polka music at Old Europe, sample suckling pig in the beer garden at the Old Stein Inn and sample 100 different beers at the Snallygaster festival in Yards Park, which isn’t strictly an Oktoberfest celebration, but certainly captures the mood.

If you’d like to get a taste of Oktoberfest, don’t miss the nightly grilling and music on the patio at Bar Dupont, Wednesday’s live music at Old Europe, and a special visit to Blob’s Park by the Chemnitzer Stadtmusikanten Band. (We also have a full list of Oktoberfest parties and community celebrations for those who like to plan ahead.)
