The Brixton, the pub-style restaurant and bar from the folks behind Marvin, the Gibson and Chez Billy, is slated to open by July 1 — in time for a curious Brit party on Independence Day.

We got a peek at the nearly-finished space, which is full of vintage details, woods and leathers and — wait for it — taxidermy.

Wrought iron lines the expansive rooftop at the Brixton, adding a fancy feel to the outdoor space. The restaurant, across the street from Nellie’s, will afford a view down Ninth Street NW.

The first-floor restaurant will boast more formal touches: nailhead-studded chairs, drapes, and molding. Check out the gorgeous pedestal table.

The entrance: The Brixton will boast a distinctive phone-booth red exterior, flagging its British pub theme.
Look out for distinctive details, such as these tartan-upholstered bar stools, which will populate the upstairs lodge.
