Plan your weekend: International arts, H Street Festival

The National Theatre of China is one of the many performers scheduled for “China: The Art of a Nation” at the Kennedy Center. (Kennedy Center)
Maybe you’ve always wanted to travel the world. Well, this weekend, the world will be traveling to you. Once again we’ve rounded up our favorite events this weekend, and there is a decidedly international flavor.

The Kennedy Center started its “China: The Art of a Nation” festival on Monday, but things really get going over the weekend with performances by the Inner Mongolia Chorus, Beijing People's Art Theatre, National Ballet of China and Beauty & Melody Orchestra of Sichuan. It’s all part of a two-month long celebration of Chinese culture that shouldn’t be missed.

National Geographic is hosting the All Roads Film Festival, a showcase of films from indigenous filmmakers from all over the world. To celebrate the festival, D.C.’s father of moombathon, Dave Nada, will be DJing at the Global Groove Dance Party.

For some good fun with a hometown flavor, head on over to H Street NE, where food trucks, craft vendors, pie eating contestants and costumed karaoke all-stars will all be gathering for the H Street Festival.
