Plan your weekend: Mandonnaramma, Irish festival and D.C. Beer Week

Remember earlier this year when pretty much everybody said Lady Gaga’s song “Born This Way”was a bit of a rip off of Madonna’s “Express Yourself”? Regardless of your opinion on that matter, the whole flap served as a great reminder of how truly awesome the Material Girl’s music is. You can dance all night and celebrate all things Madonna at Town Danceboutique on Saturday, where DJs will spin the pop star’s hits, and remixes of those hits, as part of Madonnarama.

St. Patrick’s Day seems so far away. But you might as well celebrate the halfway mark, right? That’s just what the non-profit group the Ballyshaners, which is Gaelic for “Old Towners,” decided to do with the Alexandria Irish Festival. Enjoy Irish dance troupes, corned beef and other festivities. And Irish beer, of course.

Speaking of, Sunday marks the start of D.C. Beer Week, and what better way to kick off the week-long event than with a cruise? Enjoy samples from two dozen breweries and a dinner buffet, all while taking in a great view of the monuments from the river.
