Prince of Petworth’s Dan Silverman joins the Gurus chat

For Thursday’s Got Plans? chat with the Going Out Gurus, we’re bringing in that Prince of Petworth Dan Silverman, the subject of a recent piece that polled some D.C. tastemakers about their favorite places in the city.
Dan Silverman, who blogs as Prince of Petworth, joins the Going Out Gurus Thursday at 1 p.m. for Got Plans? Go on, ask him anything. (Marvin Joseph/The Washington Post)

What made Silverman’s list? Here are some excerpts:

Boundary Stone
His take: “You go there, and it’s the real-deal, authentic bar with a jukebox. [There are] just very laid-back, very friendly people. [A] real neighborhood spot.”
Mintwood Place
His take: “If you’re looking for a newer place — it’s a little bit louder — try Mintwood Plac e. It is just terrific. Maybe better for a first date.”
Little Fountain Cafe
“[Going there] on a first date is like a little like saying ‘I love you’ on a first date. If you don’t want somebody to be overwhelmed, if you just want to say, ‘You’re good looking,’ you can have a good time there.”
