The Newseum and Kentucky and Hawaii state societies are so on-the-ball that they’ve already announced their January inaugural soirees. But if President Obama’s second inauguration is to be even a fraction of the jam-packed bonanza it was in 2009, we can expect plenty of glitzy concerts, exhibits, extended bar hours and offbeat nightlife events are still in the works.

Before the public swearing-in on Jan. 21, the Going Out Guide is seeking the events and parties that readers need to know about.
