Rock out to a perfect pool party playlist, then win passes to an actual pool party

The legendary Brightest Young Things pool parties return to the Capitol Skyline Hotel this Saturday. If you’ve never been, expect not-quite-tan hipsters lounging around a giant pool deck — or on inflatable rafts in the pool — rocking out to DJs while drinking canned beers and snacking on fresh-off-the-grill snacks. There will also be contests.

This weekend’s theme is “The Bride of Hipster Camp,” which means a lineup of female DJs spinning their favorite cool-kid anthems from 2000 to 2006, which BYT calls “the golden era of the hipster.” Selecters include Lil’E (Right Round), The Pinstriped Rebel (Marx Cafe), ReddAJ (Razzmatazz), Victory Rose (Noise Academy) and Junebullet (She.Rex). To celebrate, they’ve created an exclusive Spotify playlist for us, which you can listen to below.

Tickets cost $15 for all-day pool action, but we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away. All you have to do is tell us which retro indie hit you’d like to hear on Saturday and why. The coolest explanation — hopefully not cribbed from LCD Soundsystem’s “Losing My Edge” — will take the two pool passes.
