Signs of progress at Victor Albisu’s Taco Bamba

(Justin Rude/The Washington Post)

Justin Rude sends in this photo from Falls Church, where Victor Albisu’s forthcoming taqueria is starting to show visible signs of progress. Because there’s a sign visible above the door now, you see. Bold. Red. A nice departure from the strip mall ouevre.

The signage went up last week, the restaurant’s publicist said, and Albisu remains hopeful that Taco Bamba will open by late December.

And while the windows are still papered over, that doesn’t mean you have to wait that long to sample Albisu’s goods: his weekly Monday pop-ups at Black Jack will continue through Dec. 17.
