Something for the weekend: planning for snow... or for brunch

C’mon winter, you can do it, just one real snow day. It’s all we’re asking. (Patrick Pleul/Getty Images)
The most recent insight from the Capital Weather Gang seems to suggest that we might not get much more than a bit of rain this Sunday afternoon. But in case the boom scenarios come through and we do end up getting a nice late-winter snowstorm, the Going Out Guide’s Editor’s Picks have you covered:

Best hot cocoa

Best for soup

Best winter cocktails

Best places to escape the winter weather

Best ice skating rinks

And if the storm does move south, leaving us with a wet, but not snowbound, long weekend, we suggest getting out on Monday to take advantage of some of the President’s Day brunches offered by local restaurants like Belga Cafe, Founding Farmers, Acre 121, Mon Ami Gabi, Tonic, Matchbox and Meridian Pint.
