With a cast featuring the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude van Damme, it’s no shocker that “The Expendables 2” pulled in some major cash in its first weekend in theaters. The blockbuster earned $28.8 million, beating “The Bourne Legacy,” which earned $17 million.
Other notable opening weekend tallies include the animated “ParaNorman,” and “Sparkle,” a Motown tale in which the late Whitney Houston plays the mother of an aspiring singer (more on that over at Celebritology).
