The Killers, Nas and Lauryn Hill: Hot Tickets

Is Brandon Flowers, above, and the Killers the last American stadium-rock band? (Torey Mundkowsky for The Washington Post)
The Killers, as August Brown rightly points out in a review of the band’s new album, “Battle Born,” in the Los Angeles Times, may be the last stadium-rock band America creates. Coldplay? British. Arcade Fire? Canadian. In the era of declining record sales, it’s hard for pretty much any band to reach that level. If the epic and ambitious qualities of “Battle Born” are any indication, the four Vegas rockers have their eyes set on being the standard bearers for the red, white and blue. They’ll be touring with Tegan and Sara in support of the album this fall and winter, with a date scheduled at the Patriot Center on Dec. 18.
