The Princess Bride is 25

"The Princess Bride," the 1987 — yes, folks, 1987 — film classic directed by Rob Reiner. (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment)
I’m so old, I almost cried.

It’s the 25th anniversary of “The Princess Bride.”

I originally watched it wearing my pegged jeans and with my BFF, Becca. And then watched it again. And again. Friends would quote from it. And rhyme because of it. My now-husband bought it for me years ago on videotape. I tried on a wedding dress like Buttercup’s. (Mom cried, but it certainly wasn’t my pick. Promise!)

And today, I lost my breath when I realized this flick is 25 years old this month. Yes, 25! Why did this movie become such a cult classic? Here’s the Post’s review, which might give you a hint.

Are you out there, “Princess Bride” fans? Have some fun. Give it to us. Your rhymes. Your quotes. Your memory of the first time you watched it. We know you have it in you.

Start that rhyming now, we mean it!

(Anybody want a ... ?)
