Things to do in D.C. this weekend: Sweetlife Food and Music Festival, St. John’s vs. Navy Croquet Match

St. John’s College and the Naval Academy square off in their annual croquet match this weekend. (Craig Herndon)
For your weekend pleasure, we’ve rounded up the best events this weekend. Some of our favorites: an open-air Parisian market in the middle of Georgetown, the St. John’s and Navy croquet match and the Sweetlife Food and Music Festival.

A little bit of Paris comes to Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown this weekend, as local stores and restaurants set up an open-air market between P Street and Reservoir Road. On hand will be live music, mimes, a unicyclist and a stiltwalker.

The annual croquet matchup between St. John’s College and the Naval Academy is more about the spectacle of seeing an old-fashioned lawn party with people dressed in their Gatsby-era best. Beer, wine and champagne will be available for sale on the grounds.

Local salad shop Sweetgreen brings its second installment of the Sweetlife Food and Music Festival to Merriweather Post Pavilion this weekend with headliners Avicii, the Shins, A$AP Rocky and more. David Malitz offers set times and a Spotify playlist of songs from some recommended acts.

These are just a few of our top picks: Check out the full list for a dozen more ideas.
