In this week’s new — or, in the case of “Titanic 3D,” refurbished — movies, Kate and Leo make a 3-D comeback and so does the original cast of the “American Pie” movies. Here’s what the Post critics had to say:

“American Reunion” (R) “Comedy, like a flower, is a delicate thing. I realize this now, after sitting through a technical glitch-plagued screening of ‘American Reunion,’ another sequel to ‘American Pie’ whose sense of humor is typified by a scene in which a grown man - Seann William Scott, reprising his role as that virtuoso of vulgarity, Steven Stifler - makes number two in a beer cooler.” — Michael O’Sullivan

“Titanic 3D” (PG-13) “With Cameron having converted ‘Titanic’ to 3-D in celebration of the film's 15th anniversary, watching the new version also points up just how unnecessary such technological gimmicks are when you have a perfectly good original in the first place.” — Ann Hornaday

“The Hunter” (R) “An ecological thriller about a professional animal killer and loner who discovers a newfound sense of stewardship for the planet - along with a concern for other people - ‘The Hunter’ is engrossing and thoughtful entertainment. It's a mystery with a message.” — Michael O’Sullivan

“We the Party” (R) “It's not easy to craft a teen comedy capable of teaching its target audience valuable lessons. ‘We the Party’ demonstrates just how difficult that task can be.” — Stephanie Merry

“Thin Ice” (R) “Expect an array of goofily earnest supporting characters, as well as a dose of violent black humor.” — Michael O’Sullivan

“Hipsters” (Unrated) “Set in Moscow in the mid-1950s, the Russian musical ‘Hipsters’ is a candy-colored confection with a dark, bittersweet center.” — Michael O’Sullivan

“Eight Murders a Day” (Unrated) “The drug-fueled violence in Juarez is a big, complicated problem. That much is certain from watching Charles Minn's somewhat fevered documentary ‘Eight Murders a Day,’ whose title refers to the average homicide rate in the Mexican city, which sits just across the border from El Paso.” — Michael O’Sullivan
