In today’s Style section J. Freedom du Lac has a great profile of Rolling Stone, CNN and MSNBC contributor Touré, who made his name as a music writer.

The one-name author also includes novelist, essayist and cultural critic on his resume, and that’s what he focuses on in his new book, “Who’s Afraid of Post-Blackness? What It Means to Be Black Now,” what du Lac calls “a straw-stirring racial memoir-cum-manifesto.” Touré discusses his new book at a free event at Busboys and Poets (14th and V location) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
